World of Warships Progression

World of Warships features an extensive progression system. Commandeer your ship through a range of game modes, conquer your enemies and reap the rewards. Level up and unlock more content, upgrades, and rewards as you become a seasoned naval captain.

You can upgrade your ship with enhanced weapons and defenses. When you reach level 7, you can assign a commander to each vessel to boost the performance in various beneficial ways for combat.

Premium players are rewarded with Doubloons, the in-game currency of World of Warships. Use Doubloons to purchase consumables, camouflage, premium ships, and train commanders.

Game Modes

You can access battle modes by clicking the dropdown menu next to "BATTLE!" at the top of the Port screen. There are multiple battle modes to choose from.

Co-op

Join your comrades and face a team of computer-controlled bots. In order to create a full game, bots may be assigned to your team. Co-op is a game mode you can start playing at level 1 with 9 players per team.

Random Battle

Random Battles is a popular game mode that is available from level 3 onward. These are large-scale, 12v12 battles that match players up randomly based on tier and ship type.

Scenario

Face increasingly difficult waves of bots while carrying out a set of unique objectives. Assembling a team of friends will greatly increase your chances of success in this mode. It's available for account level 12 and above.

Ranked

Ranked battle is a competitive game mode with restrictions on time and ship tiers. Ranked seasons run for approximately 6-7 weeks and feature a ladder based ranking system. The leaderboard goes from rank 20 at the bottom to rank 1 at the top. The matchmaking system automatically puts you against players of a similar rank. You need to reach account level 14 to be eligible to play ranked battles.

Clan

Clan battles are similar to ranked. Restricted to certain times, tiers, and ships apply. Form a team with members of your clan and face opponents of a similar skill level in the matchmaking system. Level 15 minimum.

Training

Level 15 players can generate a fully custom game scenario on a map of their choosing. Adjust multiple parameters to test game mechanics, hone ships, and test strategies. No experience is awarded for Training mode games, you spend nothing and gain nothing to play.

Battleship Classes

There are World of Warship ships to fulfill every role of team co-operation. Find your position at the helm of any of these battleship classes.

Aircraft Carriers

Aircraft carriers provide remote air support for your team at extreme range. These floating airfields are essential, functioning as a support class. They are, however, highly vulnerable to attack without proper team co-ordination.

Battleships

The battleships are the Goliaths of naval combat. These heavily armored machines fight on the frontlines of oceanic combat. Batter your enemies with a barrage of firepower, and rely on extreme range support from aircraft carriers. These ships can take more of a beating than any other class.

Cruisers

Cruisers are a strategic class with multiple roles. Every nation has cruisers, but they vary in characteristics. Generally, cruisers are versatile ships with a wide array of tools and slots for consumables, making them able to adapt quickly to various battlefield conditions.

Destroyers

Destroyers are lightweight, agile ships that provide supreme firepower and maneuverability. Their health pool is weaker, leaving them fatally vulnerable to ammunition like torpedoes.

Game Tips

Two simple tips for World of Warships success:

Team play is essential - so make sure you have a strong team, and you're open to working co-operatively with other players.

Time your shots - World of Warships features long-range combat. Shots can take up to 10 seconds to reach a target, so you need to calculate in advance where your shots will land. Practice makes perfect!
